re: #89 First As Tragedy, Then As Farce

I am a (mere?) 47 years old and CONSTANTLY have to come to grips with the fact that (for instance) the 1990s weren’t, like, 10 or 15 years ago.

I still sometimes watch episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. ST:TNG is closer in time to the original Star Trek series of the 1960s than it is to today. I still have a little trouble wrapping my mind around that.

I routinely misplace events in time by 15 or 20 years. It’s not a symptom of cognitive decline. (OR SO I TELL MYSELF…)

We are rapidly approaching the point at which my birth date will be closer in time to the Battle of Little Bighorn (72 years 361 days) than to the present day (currently 72 years 36 days).
