John Cole is a good man; not many people of his longevity in the Blogisphere are willing to admit that they had been wrong on a centrality of their philosophy. Back when he made the shift (or in the words of Mr. Furious: “saw the light”), Balloon-Juice was a fascinating daily read. The shame is, even though the place aligns more with my views now, it’s not as fun to comment there anymore. Of course, the lack of Charles’s custom blogging software is a real disincentive too!

I didn’t discover him until he was fully left of center but I went back and read his archives from ‘07 through ‘08 and it was very interesting. You could see him struggle with what he saw to be real and what he believed to be real.

And I agree on the blogging software. I hate commenting at run of the mill blogs like that. That’s why I liked Dkos (and all scoop blogs) and here because it auto updates and is smooth and well thought out.
