I wonder how long we will remember this.
Most people have forgotten the folks killed in TN at their church by a guy who hated them because they were liberals.
Or the policemen killed by a guy who thought they and Obama were going to take his guns away.
Or the policemen killed in West Memphis by that guy and his son.
Or the guy who flew his plane into the IRS building.

As a culture, America has demonstrated that a few losses to random violence, no matter the reason, are okay. They’re just okay. Yes, we’re all very sad about them for a bit, and there’s some hand-wringing, but we’re totally okay with people dying to random gun violence every day.

In other words, if your rhetoric leads only to a few deaths that exist as sort of background noise, there’s no penalty to your rhetoric.
