There may be now audio recording of the meetings but Bin Laden was “almost certainly” (I beleive that was the term used in your link) offered asylum by Saddam. I seem to recall there are actual quotes from Saddam’s public statements in news stories from the time . If it’s important to you then you can look for them.

There is no way on God’s green earth Saddam would offer asylum to bin Laden, nor would bin Laden accept it if it was offered.

As the head of a secular state strongly influenced by Communism Saddam was one of the people bin Laden was trying to get rid of! Everything that bin Laden has done was to overthrow regimes such as Saddam’s. As an Islamist he believed that the only way to make the Arab world great again was to destroy the secular states that ruled it and replace them with an Islamic empire.

You need only look at who the first powerful victim of the Islamists was to see how this would be the case.
