re: #98 Anymouse

I liked Tang as a kid in the Sixties. I haven’t seen it around for a while though.

Speaking of Tang, there’s a fucking Trump connection there too:

Tang was produced by General Foods (and still is by GF’s successor company, Kraft Heinz).

General Foods began life as the Postum Cereal Company, started by C.W. Post in 1895 as an early competitor to Kellogg’s (in fact, Post apparently got his inspiration after staying at the Kellogg’s Battle Creek Sanitorium); when Post commited suicide in 1914, his daughter Marjorie Merriweather Post ran the company until the company went public in 1922.

Then, the kicker:

In addition to Hillwood and other estates, Marjorie Merriweather Post’s other lavish home was Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. Designed by Marion Sims Wyeth and Joseph Urban, Mar-a-Lago was willed in 1973 to the U.S. Government as a retreat for Presidents and visiting foreign dignitaries.[4] The mansion was not, however, used for this purpose, prior to being declared a National Historic Landmark in 1980.[5][6] It was purchased by businessman (later president) Donald Trump in 1985.[7]
