I just looked at IMDB - the screenplay is being adapted by James V. Hart - he’s the one that did Sahara, which was pretty bad. The rest of his screenplay credits are pretty odd - ‘Hook’, some Muppet movies, a Lara Croft movie (which had great casting and effects, but awful stories).

How do they screw up something like Sahara? Clive Clussler writes formulaic stuff, I like it, it’s a fun weekend read. But there’s no substance. You have to work at screwing up something like Sahara. If he can’t convert fluff to film how’s he going to do something like Atlas Shrugged?
