Polls have consistently shown this as a pretty close race. I suspect Ossoff would have had the edge, but that nutcase attacking Republican congressmen at baseball practice probably will tilt things the other way. There was no way to prepare for such an event and not enough time to effectively push back.

You would think a politician using that tragedy for political gain would make the other person more popular. But these are modern day Republicans we are talking about.
