You may recall the chart was originally colour-coded to resemble GW Bush’s terrorism advisory chart.

Since then, the number of stupid comments about rape from conservative politicians has grown so large that the chart is divided into ten chapters of entries, plus a special Donald Trump chapter.

Part of it is that the word “rape” is a very loaded term.

Legally it simply means sex without consent: whether that was through force or threats of force, intimidation, coercion, or whether the partner was not of legal age or compos mentis enough to grant consent, is a matter to be judged in individual cases.
