James Bennet, the New York Times’ Editorial Page Editor has written a lengthy piece regarding the paper’s publication of Sen. Tom Cotton’s insane screed about militarizing the response to the recent civil unrest.

I’m just going to throw it out here: for once, this is an issue I can’t really make up my mind on.

I have no problem with saying the NYTimes is wrong here. What Tom Cotton was proposing is illegal *except* in the instance of a governor requesting the military, per the Insurrection Act. The Times should not be posting blatantly illegal nonsense and giving it life.
