I read those links and they do explain things a little better. And its a good point made in the first link about the total energy cost of hybrids versus conventional cars. Anyone who thinks the Prius is a savior for the environment needs to look at some pictures of the environmental disaster barren “moonscape” around the nickel mines near Sudbury Ontario where the nickel for the Prius batteries comes from. True, the Prius is not the only destination for the nickel mined there. But to listen to the hype you’d think the batteries were grown from seeds on a hydroponic farm.
