Very few people abroad can recognize American accents anyway.
Hell, a lot of Americans have trouble with regional accents.
ā¦if I practice I can sound Canadian. (Well, the WI/MN accent can be close enough that thereās only a few tells.)
I live in the UK. Many Brits will assume youāre Canadian without even trying. They really canāt tell the difference between the non-regional American and Candian accents. To be far it can be hard. We are just separated slightly by how the Canadians emphasize certain vowels like the Scots.
