Probably Romanian, and it received an Ellis-Island-isation that was unique in the change of lead consonants (if any of their cousins bearing the same name came earlier or later, they didn’t receive the exact same switch.

They came from A-H when they immigrated, though.

(This is also the one and only reason I will never share my RL last name with anyone online who didn’t previously know me IRL).
