There’s definitely a generational divide. FIU does a poll of Cuban Americans (in Miami) every year. From the one released in January:

57% of Cuban Americans say the embargo hasn’t worked at all, including 65% of those over 75 years old. 60% of Cubans that came before 1980 say it hasn’t worked. Yet on the question of whether they support the embargo, “yes” wins 51-49. Almost 70% of those who came before 1980 and 73% of those over the age of 75 (likely a lot of cross over there, for what it’s worth). Still support the embargo. Those born mostly in the US oppose it 60-40.

That generational gap is real across every question that is asked.

It’s interesting that so many acknowledge the embargo doesn’t work but still support it.
