Gov. Ironside’s whole bit about “arresting future rapists” is especially insulting when you remember that this is a party that continues to fight at the local and state levels for the “parental rights” of the rapist including the “right” to force his victim to carry the pregnancy to term.

“Rapist” doesn’t mean the same thing to them, because they’re fine with a lot of forms of coercion that void consent, and they’re fine with people that aren’t “innocent” being coerced or forced into sexual acts, and they are certain that there are superior kinds of people who simply can’t be rapists.

So when Abbott talks about pre-emptively catching all the rapists, it’s this funhouse definition wherein the Real Rapists are guys that catch the conservative imagination as threatening to the womenfolk or threatening to the feelings of the men.
