Continuing on (from this morning) with an off-topic topic… I did go ahead with the 23andMe thing - including getting a kit for my mother (as a parent-child pairing in the database will help with some of the analyses).

Anyway, their site wants me to come up with an online nickname, which they emphasize is permanent (carved into solid stone no doubt).

I won’t use the one I use here (as I plan to make my genetic info public in the hopes of finding relatives), but now I have a quandary - what would really be a good permanent nickname with which I will want to be identified publicly?

In the past 20 years or so of my online life I’ve used pseudonyms with the goal of having them be either non-de-script, or at least neutral.

Now, I have an identity crisis.

What really is “me”?
