The other point would be that a tox screen only finds what it’s looking for. In our case, we hadn’t even thought of a tox screen because of the prevalence of epilepsy in Goldens, along with some other not so great things.
Still waiting for thyroid tests to come back. they were sent to the Univ of Some Other State for the long form to be completed. Takes about 10 days, I guess.
Her half-sister has been having seizures as well, and is now on pheno. Vet said if thyroid comes back healthy, then we’ll do the pheno. We aren’t going to do an MRI because we won’t treat for brain cancer/tumor. We’ll just see how well she does on the medication and try to give her the best life possible as long as possible.
