It is common to try and rush things… changes in society often happen slower than people expect.

Yet it will be true that as sea levels rise, millions of Americans (will they still be called that?) will have to move away from the coast.

A bigger problem, though, is that the southern US, and that includes TX, will become quite warm and humid during half the year, more so than now. If you think it is unbearable in Houston now without air conditioning, in a couple of centuries it (well, a few miles inland, the new land areas) will be even more so.

As I noted - the rich will adapt. They will spend their wealth moving, and buying real estate that is liveable.

The poor - are not so well off.

Many of the poor are going to die.
