re: #103 calochortus

OT: I thought I’d see if I could replace my non-functioning iron’s cord. First step, remove screw and take a look. But no. It has a tamper-proof torx screw in it. So now I need to go buy a special driver-which is of course available at all respectable hardware stores, so that hardly makes it “tamper proof” it just delays my tampering.
Damn it, I want to tamper with it NOW!

Old trick for weird screws, may work. Get an old bic pen and remove the inner ink tube. Heat the pointy end with a longer. Just enough to melt, try not to set in fire. Push it onto the screw. Don,t move it but let it cool. When hard use it to unscrew. Used to take video game consoles apart using this trick. Does depend on how firm the screw is
