the human condition is very complex - typically any study that describes something specific applying to a group of people, is often under a very specific set of circumstances. It’s a fairly common problem in psychology reporting (even scientists do it themselves when trying to sum up their research).

(I have a PhD in a social psych, over-generalization is a pet peeve of mine)
