Most burglars etc. aren’t looking to kill etc. They’re just looking to quickly steal some expensive shit (electronics/jewelry) and get out.

My Bachelor Security System of strewn pop bottles, pizza boxes and laundry has not yet failed to deter this sort of burglar.
