Yep, Dems are trying to make themselves look rational and reasonable (although next to the GOP they already look that way). I agree that this seems to be a cynical ploy to get more votes and control the GOP. But if the GOP wants to counter this, all they have to do is come out with their own resolution to tone down the violence and then act on it. And they need to do it before the violence gets any worse. No waiting until it gets to an unthinkable level and then saying, “We never wanted this.”

I agree with you but did I miss something. Have there been any actual acts of violence other than cutting the gas hose on the fire place?
