Besides obviously not having read Heller and the conclusions reached there, he’s arguing “historical context” while completely missing it. The 2nd Amendment had everything to do with the distrust amongst anti-Federalists of a standing army and the power over such army resting in a central government rather than the states. Perhaps he supports the 2A because he believes able-bodied men should be members of their state militia?
