re: #138 Blind Frog Belly White

Going back and remembering the Niven and Pournelle books, I think Pournelle had an unhealthy influence on them. I suspect Pournelle had the usual wingnut axes to grind - journalists, liberals, feminists, anybody not white - and always manages to make them into the enemy. Or AN enemy.

Terry Goodkind’s sword of truth series is the worst example of RWNJ political allegory I’ve ever seen in SF/fantasy. The first few books only dropped a few hints here and there, but at the end it was like a recycled version of Atlas Shrugged. I must have been crazy to read the whole thing, even though the first few books were pretty good.

Edited to add: For some reason, I never read much of the Niven/Pournelle stuff, which seems to be at least as bad.
