Ethno-nationalism down under:
Australia’s population to hit 25 million for first time
The debate is all about the fact that the immigration balance has now shifted towards Asia being the dominant source of immigrants, not Europe.
Excuses by those who want to metaphorically build a wall between Australia and Asia is that the cost of housing is too high, yada yada yada.
But as the article points out, traffic congestion and high housing prices are all the result of everyone wanting to live in the same few spots in the whole continent.
To be fair, there’s really not a whole lot of other places to live in Australia aside from those same few spots. I mean, personally, I certainly wouldn’t want to live in the interior of the Australian continent, but that’s just me. Your mileage may vary.
