Donald Trump has been a public figure for 40+ years. In that time he has shown nothing that suggests he knows what “a joke” actually is or that he has any ability to tell one.

E.g., the cringeworthy performance at the Al Smith dinner, where the object is to lightly poke fun at your opponent, not attack them full bore and call them names.
