He could have been killed, honestly. A horse that has delivered that kind of kick could crush his chest. I was in our pasture one day when a mare kicked at another mare and I was in the wrong place. I instinctively covered my abdomen with my arm, and was knocked a good number of feet. Was lucky, because I was at the far end of the kick, not about half way back, like this idiot. Lots of bruising was all. The mare knew she messed up, and tucked tail and ran. They don’t really like to knock us down and walk on us. We’re too squishy.

I have known horses who know a human is being an asshole and they won’t kick with full force but enough to make the point.
