Yeah, unless you have studs or chains (and maybe not even then), 4WD don’t mean shit when you try to start, stop, or steer on a sheet of ice.
So many times … SO MANY TIMES while driving I’ve scooted past Subarus and SUVs stuck in a snowbank and I just went about my day. I drive a Toyota Corolla. Front wheel drive. I’ve had to chain up a handful of times, and when the road is completely fucked with snow and ice I just motor on.
Snow tires are very helpful. You can accelerate, brake, and corner better than regular tires.
