Greets and saluts from the Resistance in the NYC metro area. Trump’s busy spewing stuff he doesn’t understand, and attacking the US intel community, Obama, and deflecting attention from Russia’s meddling actions.
Pence, of course, calls Trump’s speech historic. Nothing historic about it. There’s nothing new there. Trump belatedly agrees that there’s an Article 5 commitment, but his staff and GOP have been on an ongoing apology tour to paper over all Trump’s bullshit.
Nothing historic about reciting a bunch of facts that Trump doesn’t understand. He’s clueless about how NATO functions.

By actions, Europe and NATO sees Trump undermining US-Europe relations and Putin’s Russia benefits

Trump doesn’t understand Poland’s unique history and post-WWII position behind the Iron Curtain. Or that Russia continues attempting to meddle in the affairs of Russian border countries. Or that Russia’s efforts against the US emboldened them to redouble their efforts elsewhere.
By deflecting attention from Putin’s actions, and also playing into Putin’s hands, Trump’s leaving Europe in a worse position, undermining US national and economic security by the day, and the GOP is cheerleading all this bullshit because more than a few think Putin is someone to emulate - an autocrat whose views they tend to share without regard to the consequences (or perhaps because of the consequences).
