Aspen is in the upper reaches of the next drainage to the south, about 30 miles from here. It’s an 85 mile drive because mountains.

I’ve always thought Aspen as a beautiful little town with quirky people, still do. That said, I also know the town is decadent and depraved, that routinely chews up and spits out lots of good people (some of whom are dead).

Hunter S. Thompson made his home there, that speaks volumes…
