Florida group sues Collier schools over unbalanced science books

His group claims science textbooks approved during Tuesday’s school board meeting go against a Florida law that requires these educational materials to be balanced and accurate.

“I’m here to tell you that it’s not up to the school district to indoctrinate kids with one view as a proven fact rather than present both sides,” Flaugh said.

He said evolution should be taught along with creationism, and that climate change should be taught with an alternative viewpoint too.

He want’s balance in education.

A bill passed last year lets Flaugh, and other taxpayers give their input, and to object 15 of 23 of the approved science books for the 2017-18 curriculum.
