The GOP basically lost their opportunity not to look like self-serving weasels the moment they rushed to deem Kavanaugh such a “good man” now that anything he may have done in the past can be “forgiven.” Now they’re just left trying to convince people that they give a damn about hearing a woman who they’ve already decided is a liar out to destroy the name of that “good man.”

Let’s not forget his mysterious financial records from 12 years ago, when he managed to finance a $1.2 million home with only a few tens of thousands in the bank.

Being generous, one could assume the bank figured a man with his background and earnings potential would be a good credit risk, but if I tried to buy a $1.2 million house with $25K in credit card debt and only $10K in savings, they’d laugh in my face and throw me to the curb. Somehow. somewhere, Kavanaugh found enough money to swing that mortgage, and still pay his country club dues and school tuition for his daughters.
