Sounds like something designed to be a combination fund raiser and PR event. I wonder what group(s) bought all the tickets.

Or, and possibly more likely it was simple overkill from trying to find a venue for 1,100 people.

Which makes for facepalm class visuals though. Someone did not think this through. As someone alluded to in another thread this footage is ideal for making a 99% vs 1% comparison ad.
