I assume he wasn’t one of those panic buyers we have in Louisville who hit the supermarkets just before a “big storm” hits. (Big for Louisville is anything over 2”.)

Even if he is, I’d almost see it as justified in this case. If the city’s at a standstill, he won’t be able to go out—even just walking—to get his bread and milk after it hits, after all, and very few people hang onto a month’s stockpile of bread in their freezer like my family (even then, we still run through just over 2 gallons of milk a week…)
