This may already have been mentioned, but the wingnutosphere is all over this report that Ben Carson ordered an audit of HUD that turned up $500 billion in clerical errors and mistakes.

Unless I’m mistaken, even taken over 8 years, that is far more than the total HUD budget for that time period. Which might explain why it is that the mainstream media is ignoring it…

The other thing? This auditing process dates back before the election, and certainly long before Carson was sworn in, or even nominated. Carson didn’t ‘order an audit’ and Carson didn’t find shit. The OIG was already doing it, and already knew in November of 2016 that there were lots of accounting errors.

Of course, on the Right, this is depicted as “Carson finds half a TRILLION dollars of FRAUD!!!”
