It’s the flip side of Pascal’s wager - that you should worship (their) god because you lose nothing if you’re wrong. Such people don’t seem to understand I don’t believe in a Heaven any more than I do a Hell. (And Pascal’s Wager fails on my Kali example above.)
Pascal’s wager fails because it’s not really the binary they see. Choosing to believe in THEIR got puts me at odds with somebody else’s god. So, it’s not Either/Or. It’s Either/Or/Or/Or/Or/Or ad infinitum.
But every believer I’ve ever spoken to sees it as HIS god, or no god.
