What I mean is the amp. You either take your media via needle, head, or file. From that point, it is what “warms” plays, transfers that to your speakers. Solid state is a straight signal in guitar amps. Tubes have “sag” and a natural compression SS will not give you. It really is all in your head. Think of it this way; Some people put 20K sound systems in their ride……and play MP3’s……Think about that.
The difference in a tube guitar amp and a tube guitar amp? At stage volumes, if you turn down a driven tube amp, it “cleans” up. Becomes less overdriven, compressed. A solid state amp, when turned down will only become “smaller”. Less loud, no change in dynamics. This is only my observation. Your milage may vary. batteries not included.
