My stock response to that point - which everybody uses - is

Any weapon that can kill 59 people and wound hundreds from 300 yards away is a weapon of war in my book.

I’ve been pointing out of late that the Israeli Defense Forces categorizes the AR-15 in the same grouping as the Uzi and M-16 as a LITERAL weapon of war prohibited for civilian acquisition.
Might literally blow their mind to learn that a country surrounded by threats and terrorism, one that has way more gun laws and far lower gun casualty rates, absolutely prohibits civilians from going anywhere near that damned thing.
