If I remember New York history correctly, Brooklyn was its own city for a long time. A lot of cities are like that. Pittsburgh comes to mind. Technically speaking, none of Dad’s grandparents were actually born in Pittsburgh since his grandmother was born in Allegheny City which now encompasses Pittsburgh’s North Side. I believe Cleveland was like that too. They had Cuyahoga City or something like that. Forget the exact details the priest that helped me find Dad’s other grandmother’s baptism records. And abroad you have Budapest which historically was the two cities of Buda and Pest.
