Small caveat: I would be willing to make exceptions for convictions of crimes relating to the election process, such as voting fraud - attempting to tamper with election outcomes should result in the loss of participation rights.

I could cede that point. Obviously, I was referring to the general population of people with felony convictions who’ve served their court-mandated sentences. (Aside: I don’t know that calling them “felons” after they’ve served their punishment is particularly helpful, but whatever.)
