I think you make a really important point in noting what the “Deep State” actually is. Sometimes we forget to highlight the obvious because we’re working from a place where that’s a given, but others may have turned phrases used for short hand into something else completely.

I have often reminded GOP folks that Big Government is just working folks like us, not some damned conspiracy zombie.
