Earlier this evening I was doing the usual channel surfing to compare coverage. Fox had yet another “Eric Bolling sits in the middle” panel. There was a young blond woman with glasses and then—pan left—Trace Adkins in his black cowboy hat and gravelly voice telling us about the Taliban!

Chuck Todd had real veterans of political investigations, as did CNN. I know: no surprise. But Trace? Why not. He’s got country gravitas.
