re: #145 A Mom Anon

Here’s a question or six that’s been nagging me a little:

Let’s say we manage to get these types of weapons banned. What happens to all the ones out there in the hands of who knows?

Will there be buybacks where the guns are then destroyed? Are there laws in places that prevent this locally?

What happens then to people who have them once a ban is passed? There needs to be serious consequences in place for people who think these laws don’t apply to them.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day. I told him that I wouldn’t even be against some sort of grandfather clause for some of those guns. If someone has owned an AR for 15 or 20 years and hasn’t gone on a murderous rampage yet, it’s probably safe to assume they won’t.

Otherwise, a buyback program, for the current market rate. Then a very public video of all the bought-back guns being fed into a smelter or run over by a steamroller.
