Amazing economic news this morning. Initial unemployment claims last week decreased to 209,000, the lowest number since 1969, when the labor force was only half the size it is now.
Indeed it is, and what’s particularly interesting is that wage growth isn’t occurring despite the massive windfall to companies.
It’s as though the trickle down isn’t.
Which, any one following basic economics would have predicted. Trickle down doesn’t work, and the companies have instead sat on the windfall, bought back shares, or rewarded their shareholders, instead of raising wages.
