Well running for office is expensive. I can’t blame the DNC for that. The DNC has a lot less power and influence than people think. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be disappointed but it’s more up to your fellow residents than the DNC here.

Yes and no, IMO.
Of course political campaigning is expensive: but it’s not all (and always) a matter of money, per se: where that money is applied (and how efficiently/effectively) can be just as important. This is a lesson Republicans learned years ago: how many states do we hear of with figures like “Republicans get 45% of the vote, yet control 60% of the Legislature”. The principle is simple: apply campaign money down to the Statehouse level: take over after Census years; gerrymander the state down to the last yard to ensure (R) advantage; control Statehouse forever. QED.
Of course, this implies a level of Party discipline alien to most Democrats, apparently (despite the RWNM propaganda to the contrary); but it doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
