Agreed. I live in a state that has a mandatory waiting period. It’s a serious roadblock for women.

The only remaining Abortion clinic in MS is in Jackson, which is just short of a three hour drive from where I am. So if a woman from this city wants an abortion, she has travel three hours to Jackson, find a place to stay for two days while there because of the mandatory waiting period (or drive three hours back and then three hours up and back two days later) before she can get the procedure done.

And this is assuming she has access to transportation to get up there and enough time off work to accommodate all this, not to mention money to cover gas, food and other necessary expenses.

My state even passed one of those stupid “admitting privileges” laws which would have closed the Jackson clinic and, in the words of our idiot governor “Make Mississippi abortion free”, but it was struck down by a Judge at the 11th hour so the Jackson clinic has stayed open for the time being.
