This is also Eric Rudolph and Paul Hill all over again. There are always lunatics on both sides, but right now there is a pressure-cooker of hate going on— isolated, angry, unhappy people who have lost jobs and homes and always hated “the gays” or “the blacks” or “the mexicans” or whoever anyway. Glenn beck, michelle Malkin, and many others are fueling this vigorously— they rave about armed insurrection, about revolution—and some people listening are taking that seriously.

I think we will see many more such incidents in the coming years. These are the real right wing extremists that the DHS was warning about.

(and let’s not forget that lunatic who shot up a unitarian universalist church last year, who left a suicide note proclaiming “kill all liberals!”—his house was filled with books by beck and hannity, and those commie liberals he hated wrestled him to the ground and disarmed him when he tried to murder the entire congregation)
