Some protector of the Faith, this assassin (assuming he’s Christian). A church is holy space, where all are brothers and sisters in Christ. The last thing one does there is an act of violence. It’s bad enough that this psycho “protested” Dr. Tiller by whacking him; that he did it in sacred space, with his wife present and children in attendance, is as evil an act as anything ever attributed to an abortionist.

IMHO, it’s far more evil.

Murder in the first degree — which this surely is — is not excusable in any way, shape, or form. IIRC, the Biblical remedy for this was the (often painful and prolonged) death of the murderer. I don’t recall, offhand, where that admonition is, but I think it may be in Deuteronomy.

Murdering someone in the presence of children is far worse. I sincerely hope that Kansas still has the death penalty.
