re: #139 Charles Johnson
One of my first bands actually opened for the Allman Brothers at the Honolulu International Center Arena. I met Bill Graham backstage - he complimented the band, said we should get out of Hawaii and do something.
The Allman Brothers were incredible that night - I was standing by the side of the stage in awe.
Dunno when you opened for the ABB, suspect it was Gregg, Dicky, Chuck, Lamar, Butch & Jaimoe.
Even after Chuck Level joined the band it took them a while to regroup after Duane & Barry.
“Jessica” comes to mind, and best of all from that period, “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” off the ‘Wipe The Windows, A Dollar Gas’ album.
