I would expect so based on way too many other things said here and there, DF.

Some of the most interesting times during my time in Vietnam in 2002 for our adoption was talking to the various vets I met. One fellow working with us was an ARVN NCO, then sent to re-education but released when the Chinese invaded. Both former ARVN & NVA fought side by side then and kicked the Chinese out.

He has since passed but I remember him quite fondly.
