Surely we could as the wealthiest nation in the history of the world afford healthcare for all (whether it is some form of “Medicare for all” or a better-funded and expanded Public Health Service).

There is no reason for people to go without decent healthcare in our country than unmitigated greed. My sister and her wife are getting crushed with my sister-in-law’s cancer treatments - she’s set up a GoFundMe account which has received a small sum. (No one should have to beg for healthcare either.)

In my sister’s case, the healthcare bills are destroying their ability to stay in Berkeley: They are planning to leave California because healthcare/cost of living do not match up. (They make many times more than my disability.)
